An Orange County man was found guilty Monday of killing a man who was involved in a domestic violence case in 2024.Jesse James Hill, 70, faces life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder. Investigators say Nelson was the subject of a domestic violence injunction. The person who got the injunction was staying at Hill’s home at the time. They say Nelson showed up at Hill’s home to demand the person give back a house key. Investigators say Hill came out of his house with a rifle and the two men got into a fight. Nelson tried to run away, but Hill shot Nelson in the head.Hill is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 8.State Attorney Monique Worrell issued this statement regarding Hill’s conviction:“While nothing can undo the tremendous loss suffered by Mr. Nelson’s loved ones, we hope today’s verdict brings them a measure of peace.
