FHP: 3 dead, several hurt in DeLeon Springs head-on crash

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal head-on collision that occurred in DeLeon Springs, Volusia County. The crash involved a 2023 Honda CR-V and a 2021 Ford Expedition, with preliminary evidence suggesting the Honda entered the westbound lane of SR-40, colliding with the Ford. All three occupants of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene, while four individuals in the Ford were transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities are working to confirm the identities of all those involved.
