Construction is nearing completion on a project designed to relieve traffic and improve safety near one of Longwood’s busiest intersections.After completing right-of-way acquisition, the Florida Department of Transportation is expected to begin work this fall on a stretch of State Road 434 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard.The intersection work includes the addition of dual left turn lanes for east and westbound traffic, and a new exclusive right turn lane on eastbound State Road 434.The project will also include bicycle lanes on State Road 434 from South Milwee Street to Ronald Reagan Blvd.Bill Moss lives in Longwood and is looking forward to the planned improvements for drivers.“That’s a dangerous intersection. It’s bad all the way through, and they need to do something about it,” Moss said. “They’re always doing something around here, but it’s progress.”In addition to added lanes in the area, safety improvements will be made at five signalized intersections between Rangeline Road and US
