In the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias, now named a tropical cyclone by the National Hurricane Center, Duke Energy Florida is working to restore power to customers in North Florida. Duke Energy says they have already restored power to approximately 10,000 homes, with about 2,200 more homes still waiting. The company says they plan on wrapping up restoration this afternoon. Duke Energy says Friday they deployed resources across the state in anticipation of the storm, and a favorable path allowed crews to work around the clock to assess damage. Leaders with Duke Energy say the around-the-clock work allowed them to make repairs and get the lights back on for customers. Duke Energy says to look out for fallen power lines or anything in contact with them, and to always follow manufacturers’ instructions when it comes to generators. You can call Duke Energy at 800-228-8485 for assistance.
