
Tavares man dies after Orange County crash, FHP says

A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after officers found her asleep behind the wheel early in the morning at an intersection, according to the Ocoee Police Department.In a release on Thursday, police said the call came in around 6:30 a.m.
Officers made contact with the driver and conducted a DUI investigation at the scene. The woman was then arrested, officials said.In released body-camera footage, an officer states that the driver had been reported asleep for over 20 minutes.
“I think you’ve actually had a little bit too much to drink today, OK?” an officer can be heard saying later in the video.[RELATED: Watch the body-camera footage below]Authorities noted the situation ended without anyone being hurt, but warned the outcome could have been much worse.
Police are urging anyone who plans to drink to arrange a safe ride home, stressing that a single decision can prevent a serious crash and potentially save a life.“One decision can save a life,” the release reads.
